Recreation

Assistance here could vary from a modification to fishing rod to assistance for a one handed person to play bowls or pool.

Mono-rail

A Wild Swan ride

This solution was built to assist a young girl enjoy the outdoor environment. She loved the feeling of the fresh air flowing past her face. The child was able to start and stop the ride whenever she wanted. This project involved construction of a monorail set up in an oval pattern in a large back yard. A scooter engine was modified to propel the carriage around the monorail line. The carriage has a canopy to protect the child from the sun. “WOW, this is so much fun!” she said.

Towing

Give us a tow

This tow rod was designed so a father and son could go out for a recreational bike ride together. The child would not normally be able to keep up with the family on the ride and this nifty device allows the child to be towed along.

TADWA strives to find solutions to keeping the whole family active together, donated bikes and trikes are often refurbished to assist in such project.

Walker

A Walker Aardvark

This device is a combination of a walker and a leaf blower. The client is a keen gardener and was looking for a solution to rounding up leaves around his patio area. The device allows the client top sit and rest when tired. This novel solution was made from a combination of 2 commercially available products modified by our clever volunteers.
