Do you find the aged care system confusing? Would you know where to start if you were looking for help at home? What do you need to consider if you plan on ageing in place at home? Would you like to talk about this for free with other people who are asking the same questions?
About this Event
‘Planning for the Next Season’ workshops empower seniors to blaze their own trail as they think about how to stay at home, prepared and in control of what happens as they age. It is a facilitated peer workshop for older people designed to help think about and make plans to age in place at home.
The workshop follows a format to develop a personalised ‘roadmap’, using a facilitator as a compass, the Planning for the Next Season framework as a map and the collective wisdom of the group as guides. This roadmap explores eight signposts in life’s journey, which will help people consider how they will age well at home now and into the future, giving them information and practical provisions to progress on their unique path.
In 2020 TADWA will conduct three workshops. Each will be a 3.5 hour facilitated workshop with tea and coffee in the morning and a light lunch provided. This is a free event, open to older people and their families living in the City of Bayswater.
It’s a one of a kind opportunity to get together with other people and talk about what it takes to stay at home, what support is available and demystify the aged care system.
