Assistive Technology & Mobility Solutions
Choosing the right equipment can feel overwhelming – so we make it simple. Our team supports you to find assistive technology and mobility solutions that improve safety, independence and everyday comfort. We take time to understand your goals, home environment and daily routines, then guide you through practical options that suit your lifestyle – from simple daily living aids to more advanced mobility or digital solutions.
You can access equipment through TADWA in several ways:
- Purchase items privately
- Use recommendations from your own occupational therapist
- Arrange a TADWA occupational therapy assessment for tailored advice
An occupational therapy assessment is required if you’re accessing NDIS, Support at Home or CHSP funding. It’s also recommended for more complex needs to ensure safety, suitability and long-term outcomes.
What we can provide or facilitate
We support access to a wide range of assistive technology and mobility solutions, including:
- Personal safety alert devices
- Computer access tools and smart home controls
- Daily living aids for personal care and household tasks
- Seating, positioning and transfer supports
- Walking aids and powered mobility devices (where appropriate)
- Home access solutions such as rails, ramps and threshold modifications
We discuss your needs and home environment, support equipment selection through private purchase, existing OT recommendations or a TADWA occupational therapy assessment, and coordinate trials, quotes, setup guidance and funding documentation where required.
NOTE: Our OTs assess, prescribe, and recommend; they do not provide ongoing therapy sessions.
