There are many ways to access TADWA services. Here are some examples-
People over 65 (or over 50 who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) who are interested in our Home Modification or Equipment services, can ring My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit the My Aged Care website at www.myagedcare.gov.au
My Aged Care can organise an assessment of your needs and make a referral to TADWA.
People who currently have a Home Care Package (HCP) can speak to their Service Coordinator about using their HCP funds for TADWA services.
People with disability can use their funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or funding through the Western Australian government to access TADWA services.
The NDIS is rolling out in Western Australia geographically in phases. This video explains how the roll out will occur:
More information about the roll out can be found here
People currently receiving disability services from the Western Australian Government or other Commonwealth programs will transition to the NDIS at different times, depending on where they live the type of support they are receiving. The NDIA will contact people currently receiving disability services when it is their time to transition.
Existing Commonwealth and State based supports will continue until you are covered by the NDIS.
If you are not in an area which has transitioned to the NDIS, you can ring the Department of Communities, Disability Services on (08) 9426 9200 or 1800 998 214.
Whether you know what service you are interested in, or just want to have a chat about what is possible, we are happy to explore the options with you. We’re only a phone call away.
